Dear friends, no Sai bhajan till now, no trade updates, no comments. U must all be thinking,whats wrong with rochak. Nothing serious, friends, its just that, i am still under shock. Vishal retail is a big setback for me. But, then u know, markets are always known for doing the unexpected. ( 47 was never expected2b broken ).

Hello friends !

Who doesnt wanna get rich.

& then who doesnt wanna get rick quickly.

& this fact is not under even a % of a doubt that MONEY FETCHES MONEY.

& this money is a big power if used wisely & smartly.

But, at the same time, if not used properly can be devastated quickly also.

Stock market has always been fancied as a place that is believed to make rich quickly & this is actually possible. offcourse, with whole lot of experience, discipline & proper money management.

MONEY MANAGEMENT & POSITION SIZING IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT of trading in stock market.

First of all, u must always know the exact time frame, for which the funds, u r gonna use for trading, is available to you. & then u shud plan ur trades accordingly.

I have been always believed, that longer the time period is, higher the gains are. U shud first, divide ur capital as per ur requirement.

Suppose a fund of 5 lacs is available spare to you for trading. U shud always know, how much funds out of this 5 lacs, is available to you upto a certain time period.

So, now then, the money which is not required to you for next 3-5 years, shud be kept secured, in order to be used, until u identify urslf a long term bet. Suppose, u dont need 2 lacs out of this 5 lacs for the next 3 years at least. So, u shud keep these 2 lacs apart from the rest of 3 lacs, till u find an appropriate scrip in which these funds can be invested.

NOw, what about the rest 3 lacs ? Well, this amount shud always know its goal. What u wanna do from this fund ? As per as my opinion is concerned, since i believe in longer term returns, i wud keep at least 50 % of the amount for positional trades, i.e. trades which are identified to be initiated for next 6-9 months. so, 1.5 lacs are kept for medium term trades. Now, the rest 1.5 lacs is the amount, which is available to you for ur short term/swing/day/nifty OR any type of trading. Since, the 2 parts of the funds u have kept by you are for medium to long term, u can risk the 3 rd part of fund for trading purpose, b coz, the investment u made, wud actually make u comfortable to suffer some losses, if any, while trading for short term/day trading.

I do not favour day trading. Day trading is the fastest devastation which can happen to your capital. Well, while trading, u shud actually know what for are u in. Trading is a huge ocean. Ur capital is not even a single drop out in this ocean. So, with the limited capital u have, u can not experiment with all aspects of trading, i.e. day/swing/nifty/option/arbitrage/hedge/ etc etc.

Well, after having decided, what actually ur goal is, at least 60 % of ur residue capital, i believe shud be kept secured, to back up the 40 % capital u have decided to put into aspect u chosen to trade. B coz, i have seen several traders converted into martyrs on the front of mark to market ( MTM ).

So, that means, 90000 Rs. is to be kept secure to back up 60000 rs. trade. Now, this 90000 rs. hasnt to be kept totally idle. This 90000 rs. can always b used confidentally in case indices are over sold OR over bought. Else, keep this amount idle.

Leverage has always to be avoided. Leverage is the best lollypop, smart & disciplined trades hav used successfully to attract wanna be rich quickly, new bie traders. Well, this 90000 rs. is kept secured only to cover up, in case u have used leverage with the 60000 rs. capital u are supposed to use. SO, in any case, ur trades shud not exceed 1,50000 rs. limit.

NOw comes the position sizing.

Well, all ur bets shud be equally poised. So that means, if have kept x amount secured for trading, ur bets shud be either x/2,x/3,x/4,x/5,x/6 in proposition. I have never believed that one shud hold more than 4 positions at at given point of time. So, let us divide our capital by 4. So, ur single trade shud always be 15000 rs. amount. So, if u r trading in reliance, u wud trade in 15 no. of shares, & if its in rnrl it shud be 375.

Now, stop loss is what, one shud decide himself, that how much he is willing/ready to loose per trade, if the trade goes wrong. NO GAIN WITHOUT PAIN. This depends entirely on ones risk appetite. Ideally, it shudnt be more than 2 %. So, if u willing to loose 2 % on entire trade amount, i.e. means, u can afford to loose upto 300 rs. on a single trade. that means, u shud place SL 300/15=20rs. IN case of a reliance & 300/375= .80 re or 80 paisa in case of RNRL. SO, a SL shud be kept @ 1000-20=980 in case of reliance & 40-.80=39.2 in case of RNRL.

What does this mean, we shud always keep a SL under 20 rs. in reliance & .8 paisa in RNRL , whenever we take a trade. YA, but many a times, when trade is not initiated @ appropriate levels, the chances of ur Sl hitting are higher. So, ideally, after being provided with a SL/Identified a SL, for a trade, u shud wait patiently to scrip to come closer to ur SL, to initiate a trade. i.e. in case of reliance, if SL given/provided is 965, instead of jumping immediately into the trades, u shud wait patiently for reliance to come down to 985-983, before initiating a trade.

This is what money management & position sizing, has been from years, the trading has begun. SOme know, how to apply & some dont, & some know but dont apply. Well, 1 more thumb rule is to cut ur losses early & trail ur profit. B coz, its believed that 80 % of ur profit comes from 20 % of ur trades. That means, 8 out of ur trades are gonna hit the SL, but if money management, position sizing, SL, TSL & discipline is properly followed than ur 2 successful trades out the 10 trades taken are able enough to make up for the losses u have suffered in those 8 trades, if proper discipline is followed.

Well, i know this is quite a lengthy article, but, i have a descriptive nature & i cant help it. I hope, this article help somebody in developing a disciplined trading approach.

Charity begins @ home.

This is an old saying, & mentioning it just to ensure, that i practice what i say.

India is a country of celebrations, celebrating festivals. Loads of festivals are there. But, Grand Festival season starts from Naag panchami in august month, followed by Raksha bandhan, Shri Krishna Janmashtami, EID, Hartalika Teej, Ganesh chaturthi, Paryushan parv, Shraddh parv, Navrathri, Dussehera, Shri Gurunanak ji jayanti, Dipwali, Merry Christmas, New year, Shri Guru Govind Singh ji Jayanti, Navroj, Pongal, Makar Sankranti, Good friday & so on. These festivals are being cheered & cherished by everybody, irrespective of religion, caste or age. New clothes, home furnishings, sweets, lightings, crackers add flavours to our festive spirits. We always have a tendency to spend more than our capacity to make our family happy & rejoiced. Those all, who are reading this article definitely form a better, prosper & vital part of a society. We are an internet society, always one up as per as our thought process, sense of responsibility & intelligence are concerned. & credit for all this not only goes to the Almighty, parents, family members, our hard work but to society also. We shud all think positively to give back the society, whatever we can, within OR out of our capacity.

The pics which i have added to this post, addresses the same issue. I came accross a aashram nearby my residence, which entertains only handicapped children, 4-16 years. Day boarding, education, hostel & meals, all goes on charity. This is the pic of the occassion when i invited them at my home, on an auspicious occassion, arranged a get together with lunch for them. All of our family members also had lunch with them. SO, what s unique in that. Well, prior to this, i went over 50 home surrounding us, one day ago, requested all of them to join those children. My neighbourers were simply asked to come alone, just to rejoice those children, that they are no alone, we all are with you. A lil request was made, that if & only if possible, bring along anything from ur home, used stuff, be it a dress wear or anything. & to my ultimate surprise most of them came & while children were leaving, i had to arrange a loading rikshaw for them to carry away the stuff, those neighbourers brought along with them.

One more such occassion, i wanted to share with all you people. WE had a circus running in our city indore. To my ultimate surprise, only on one request, within 15 seconds of my mentioning, circus people agreed to allow free entry to those children. Children were more than happy, as they never seen circus in their life.

In the same series, I have arranged for those children to visit an Ice cream plant on Sunday, 12 th September 2010, 1 pm. During which Plant owner not only agreed to show them the process of manufacturing of ice cream, but also to offer an ice cream each for all of them.

AM I BLOWING MY OWN TRUMPET - Why mentioning this, blowing out my own trumpet, not really. Just wanted to highlight the effort to convey & communicate my message properly. & one more important reason. CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME. Before preaching readers, i wanted to put my own example. Well, what did i contribute ? Just my deeds & lil bit of food stuff, that s all. During their visit to ice cream plant/circus, i will have to expend less than even Rs. 1000 ( on conveyance ). I know we people are not capable enough to bring out the revolution in our society. But, within our capabilities we can bring small lil changes in our society. IF not, at least we are capable enough to bring out cheerful smile on the face of one such needful person, once such festival. LOads of old age homes, orphanages, aashrams, municipals school, slum houses etc are around us, waiting for our initiatives. Following are my suggestions, which are not big, yet effective to fulfill, such noble causes.

1. Spend any 2 or 3 such festivals every year with such people.

2. Do celebrate a birthday OR anniversary once in a while with them.

3. There are several orgnanizations out at your city, which arranges to serve, the meals, which are spared, from our social functions, such as marriage functions, birthday celebrations etc.

4. SHRADDH SEASON is celebrated till 15 days in north india. COntribute one time meal, any of those days to the needfull people on the name of ur ancestors.

5. DOnate spare/used blankets, woolen clothes etc. in winter season & spare/used wind sheeters/raincoat in rainy season.

6. Go to a multiplex nearby you, meet the manager in operations there. Multiplex goes empty houses during Shraddha/ramzan/examination period. They will be more than happy to arrange a show, free of cost/nominal cost for this noble cause. Some how, if multiplex owner doesnt approve a movie show for them, they will always agree to let those children to visit to their projection room to know, how the movies are projected.

7. U can also arrange an in house, movie show on a projector/lcd/dvd at their place itself.

8. Arrange to donate educational stuff to the children studying.

9. People who know any art like paintings/computers/rangoli/knitting/weaving can spend 1-2 hours during weekend teaching their art to them.

10. Any stuff, that is spared/used but have been upgraded/updated/old for you. like electronic gadget/clothes/utensils/toys/educational material/medicines/

11. Pay occassional visits to their places, even if u r not in mood/able to donate something, just to cheer them up that they are not alone.

12. Invite once or twice a year @ your place/society/township etc. just in order to bring them into lime light, to attract attention of the people around you towards them.

13. U can meet the directors of such places & can refer them to the able people u know OR can request such capable people to pay attention/visits to their places.

14. u can arrange to let them visit any fascinating place in ur city like amusement park, museum, shopping mall, garden, any manufacturing plant, ice cream plant, dairy plant, water treatment plant, pumping station, dam likewise places.

15. If u r concerned with any NGO, u can arrange a celebrity to visit their places.

16. Arrange a visit to the local Radio station, FM station, Newspaper press, TV channel likewise places, to let them know, how they function. They also readily agress for such cause, as such activity brings fee publicity for them.

17. If any mall/shop/showroom/township is scheduled to inaugurated, simply go & meet the directory & suggest this idea. They will always be ready for such activity as such kind of activity brings down loads of free media publicity for them.

I know, there are much more smarter & intelligent people than me, amongst my readers. Many other such ideas & even better wud click to them. Required is just an inspiration. If my article inspires even one such person, i wud think my work is done & then u know, its a chain reaction. Today when those children wud be visiting to the ice cream plant, i am sure, the idea wud be clicked to the persons, who wud come accross this initiative. So, when u get involve into these activities, people watching u doing this, wud also get inspired. So, its quite possible, this leads to a chain reaction & together we might bring a revolution in our society, if not for anything else, then at least for people who need our love & affection.

& let me guarantee one sure shot fact. No stop loss required for such activity. No risk only reward that too of too many smiling faces around us.

Hello friends !

SP. MENTION - Please feel free 2 use dis weekend as an opportunity to discuss to make dis blog as a better place 2 visit ( suggestions & healthy criticism r welcome )

Didnt i clearly stated just 4 days ago, that several such 1-2 % of losses out of failure trades can easily be made up, by 12 - 15 % profits we make in successful trades, provided that we remain consistent & disciplined . Isnt my point proven with our trades in ramsaroop, tech mahindra & thinksoft.

We had a great week behind us. All our stocks were picked @ bottom & many of them are at good returns. Lets have a glance, what did we do this week.

Ramsaroop - stock made a bottom of 58.45. Guess, what was the stop loss suggested, 57.80. Well, v bought @ 60 & advised to book above 70. This profit is booked as a matter of discipline as we wanted to liquidate some positions to take fresh trades.

Thinksoft - We picked up the stock on the crossover of 117. Although @ recommendation stock was trading @ 114, & the low made is 113, even then, its such a junk stock that i did nt want my readers to indulge in such a stock, untill a clear buy signal emerges. & then as a matter of discipline profit booking advised @ 135. 18 rs.(15%) that too within 2 days is not bad at all.

Sintex - I had clearly in my mind the fact, that it has reversed 6-7 times already from 369-370 kind of band, & then it has not fallen below its support 348-345 as mentioned.So, either it has to trade below 350-348 OR it carries a risk of breaking 370 on the upside. This time, if it reverses from 352-355 kind of levels. & same thing happened. SO, we had an early, graceful & profitable exit from our short.

Resurgere minerals - ALthough it reversed its downtrend from 70 level, after we bought it @ 71 & then given us a wonderful opportunity to book profits as per our 4 % rule, but then when it broke 71 again on the downside, after having scored a high of 75, it was a probability that it breaks 69 ( our SL ) this time, & then we also have to make room for fresh trades, so as a matter of discipline to not to have positions in more than 6-7 stocks at a given point of time, we squared off this on a minimal 2 % loss. Our decision proved right, when it broke our sl 69 & fallen further.

Fresh trades initiated in between :

Ispat industries - we had once booked profits of 5 %, when picked up @ bottom of 17.8 ( low made 17.8). But, then it gave a crystal clear buy signal on the crossover of its resistance @ 20 that too associated with huge volumes. So, took a decision to go long immediately without waiting. Then one of the blog mate asked next day, what levels its to be bought, i gave him levels of 19.40-19.55. & low made after my recommendation is 19.55. Isnt it amazing.

Mcdowells - Asked to wait for a level like 1510-1525 to initiate a buy. Low made so far is 1508 & stock went as high as 1545 after that. SHud carry this for a lvls like 1650-1670 next week.

SIntex industries _ WIth the initiation of short call, it was well established that its a bull stock above 370. & when same move happenend in sintex , that too associated with huge volumes, there was no point to wait to buy this stock. Well, if it crosses levels like 376-78 on monday, its a clear cut hold for tgts like 405/422 in next 2-3 weeks time. SL can easily be placed below 366-65 for such tgts.

Tech mahindra - Book some profits above 720 on monday/tuesday, as a matter of discipline as 15 % is not bad in 4 trading days. Please re enter it as per ur convenience for higher tgts like 780/825, since structure is positive.

ALl other stocks we own like kei, tata power, r power, jindal saw are a strong hold with a TSl for tgts mentioned.

The girls 1st boyfriend was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining her wealth and kingdom. However, she d id not love the first boyfriend. Although he loved her deeply, she hardly took notice of him!

One day, the girl fell ill and she knew her time was short. She thought of her luxurious life and wondered, I now have four boyfriends with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone.'

Thus, she asked the 4th boyfriend, 'I loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?'

'No way!', replied the 4th boyfriend, and he walked away without another word..

The sad girl then asked the 3rd boyfriend, 'I loved you all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?'

Her heart sank and turned cold.

She then asked the 2nd boyfriend, 'I have always
turned to you for help and you've always been there for me.

'I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!', replied the 2nd boyfriend. 'At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave.'

His answer struck her like a bolt of lightning, and the girl was devastated.

SP. MENTION - Our trades/discussions/queries are continuing through the comments section of recent/last post, till new post is done.

My updates got affected due to virus in my pc. Here is a short summary of my trades.

Unlike others, I wud like to mention the failures first, as they are not only the failures, but lessons OR our milestones to path to success.

WWIL - Stopped out.

Nitin fire - Stopped out.

Concor - stopped out.

Sintex - closed, 2b initiated again on a break of 348.

Ramco systems - stopped out.(initiated & stopped out on same day, played4low risk)

One thing is certain, few stopped out trades have ruined my reputation earned in last 9 weeks. It seems my readers are disappointed with the no. of failures, but then they need to understand that such phase comes only 2wice or 3rice in an year, which keep taking sl's of one side ( discussed this thru comments section ) & also that all these trades were a result of a series of low risk bets which we were attempting, as it was almost certain that markets are bound to reverse, & this point is proved by my following successful trades. Also, such 1-2 % lost in few failure trades can be compensated by 12-15 % we make in our successful trades, if we remain consistent & disciplined.

INITIATED THIS WEEK -

R power - Picked @ 151 ( low made 150.7)

Jindal saw - Picked @ 198 (low made 197)

Resurgere minerals - Bought @ 71. SL below 68.( low made is 69)

Ramsaroop - Bought @ 60, to be squared off on friday.( picked bottom, low made 58.45)

Tata power - Again bottom picked ( asked2pick between 1220-1215) low made 1207.

Tech mahindra - picked at bottom @ 638 ( low made 634)

Jyoti structures - Picked @ 137.( low made 133.5)

Thinksoft - picked @ 117 (low made 113).

Emami infra -Wud not be included in performance report, since, i did not initiated a call on it, although i had clearly mentioned about it to be included in the list of the stocks, which wud be seeing huge upsurge, when markets rebound.( this one also picked at bottom )

Ashapura minechem - This was also discussed in comments, but trade not initiated. But, we were successful in picking up the bottom.

Mcdowells - picked up today @ 1525, whereas yest. eod had mentioned, to pick it up @ 1510-1525, when it was trading @ 1555.

Emami infra & Ashapura wont be included in my performance report.

Thinksoft is a risky junk stock, i wud like readers to take off quick 12-15 % from the table & exit, since i believe in next 3-4 months, levels like 70-80 can be seen in this counter.

Tata power, r power, Mcdowells, jyoti structures, tech mahindra, jindal saw are good counters & picked @ bottom. Also i am expecting good upsurge in them in next 3-4 weeks. Keep trailing all of the above with TSL for the tgts mentioned in our earlier posts/comments.

Ramsaroop has to be booked above 72 partially to be carried for levels like 79-82 to be booked fully.

Caution to be applied in resurgere, but, if 68 remains protected, then 85 + levels are certain in it. So, keep trailing.

we are due for a euphoric move & all profits should be booked if euphoria is seen. Any way, 20-25 % profits within 2-3 weeks is not bad, so, look to lock that.
